The goal for this historic home renovation was to transform a cottage-style historic home into a fun and expressive house for a local couple to move closer to their grandkids. Taking inspiration from playful atomic mid-century modern design, this bold remodel added character through the use of a range of colors and textures, bringing a smile to anyone invited through the front door.
Where it all started
This well-loved 1950s cottage-style home was in need of an update. The goal was to keep as many of the original architectural elements as possible, including the scalloped ceiling trim, original wood wall panels, and stained-glass window in the kitchen.
